Bio: Michelle Kim (she/her) serves as the Climate Action Coordinator for the City of Dubuque, where she leads initiatives that advance community sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental equity. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Wyoming.
Michelle is passionate about bridging the gap between science and communities, translating complex environmental challenges into practical, people-centered solutions. Her work focuses on ensuring equitable access to climate adaptation strategies while fostering resilient, healthy, and thriving communities. She brings a commitment to environmental justice, creative problem-solving, and collaborative action to her role.
Outside of work (though climate work never really ends
), Michelle enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and their beloved dog, Clementine.”
