ABOUT
Dubuque Rendezvous! a cooler world gathering is a month-long exhibition of outdoor sculpture installations and a four-day festival featuring performance projects, pop-up events, exhibitions, presentations, and forums. Programming emphasizes environmental awareness, cultural communication, climate sustainability and collaborative inspiration. Projects emphasize communication across communities and support diverse representation including non-traditional artists and youth. Participants will include artists, environmental groups and anyone who wants to participate from across the Mississippi River watershed and beyond. Opportunities for public participation include interactive projects, social gatherings, public forums and an open-wall exhibition. All events are free and open to the public.
Everyone is welcome!
Dubuque Rendezvous! is built by the ideas of the participants. Collaborators, including civic, cultural, educational, spiritual and environmental organizations, are encouraged to propose their own projects. Proposals for alternative forms of transportation for traveling to the Rendezvous are welcome.
A river is a collection of its tributaries and sources in the same way that a culture reflects the
narratives and traditions of its people – Dubuque Rendezvous! will be a gathering of collective
inspiration.
