About the Work: Christine A. Curry is an environmental advocate and mixed-media artist who bridges science, art, and community engagement to inspire action. She has led impactful initiatives in marine conservation and sustainable agriculture and now works across Iowa and the Mississippi River watershed to advance clean water, healthy soils, and climate resilience. Through her Andy Warhol–inspired project, PURE IOWA ~ Water, Christine uses bold visuals and humor to spark conversations about water quality, reaching audiences beyond traditional scientific messaging.
About the Artist: Christine A. Curry is a passionate advocate for environmental stewardship, combining science, creativity, and community engagement to drive change. An experienced project and product developer, she has spearheaded initiatives in marine conservation and sustainable agriculture and now collaborates across Iowa and the Mississippi River watershed to protect clean water, restore ecosystems, improve soil health, and strengthen climate resilience.
A lifelong mixed-media artist, Christine is known for original, functional designs that highlight texture and form. Her Andy Warhol–inspired Pop Art campaign, PURE IOWA ~ Water, uses humor, bold visuals, and artistic expression to spark conversations about water quality—reaching audiences beyond traditional scientific messaging and reframing the call for cleaner water in a fresh, unexpected way.
