Project Summary: ‘Inland Buoy’ is an interpretation of a familiar object, the buoy, as a catalyst for dialogue on water, shifting landscapes and migration. Buoys are navigational devices meant to guide and warn of hazards. One of the key components of climate change is water, be it in the atmosphere, the oceans, flooding or droughts, it is inextricably linked.

Artist Bio: I’m a multi-disciplinary artist whose work explores and investigates the interconnected relationship of humans, the environment and other species. The work examines and reveals the social, technological and spiritual constructs we employ as we interface with the organic and inorganic of our place and time, underpinning the practice. Primarily through sculpture, land art, installation, drawing and mixed media, themes of equilibrium, symbiosis and time are continually present. My creative life extends beyond the studio work through support and advocacy for the whole creative ecosystem. Giving time, sharing resources and opportunities, mentorship, critique groups, public advocacy and studio work combine for a more holistic creative practice.
