Greenhouse Talk | Monarchs, Native Plants, & Pollinators, Oh My!

Focus: How pocket prairies restore biodiversity in developed areas. These projects enhance, local, ecosystems by providing critical habitat for pollinators, birds, bats, and other animals while filtering stormwater and improving soil, health with deep native roots. Key learning includes:

  • Benefits of creating sustainable habitats that work to combat habitat loss, reduce, chemical use, and decrease maintenance needs (power, energy, fuel).
  • Introduction to a mix of native wildflowers and grasses that are suited for local, sunlight and soil conditions.
  • Highlight  significant environmental advantages including reduced erosion, water conservation, and carbon sequestration.
